Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 21 oz cherry pie filling
  • 1 can 20 oz crushed pineapple (undrained)
  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter sliced

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • Spread cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  • Pour crushed pineapple (with juices) over the cherries and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit layers (do not stir).
  • Distribute thin slices of unsalted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
  • Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
